Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated 30 August 2026. Applies to Amazing Life App.
1. Who we are
{Registered company name} operates Amazing Life App and is responsible for the personal information described here. Write to us at {[email protected]} or {Registered address, line 1, City, State ZIP}.
2. What we collect
If you have an account, we hold the following and nothing else about you:
- Account details. Your email address, a hashed password (never the password itself), your username, your first and last name, and optionally your gender.
- Your date of birth. Collected once to establish that you are 18 or over. We store the date rather than a calculated age, so it stays correct as you get older.
- What you told us you want to work on. The interests you picked during setup.
- How you use the library. Which talks you played and when, how far through each one you are, what you marked as a favourite, and any rating or written feedback you submitted.
- Your coaching conversations. The messages you send to a coach and the replies generated for you.
- Sessions and devices. A record of each signed-in session, and — only if you turn notifications on — a push token for each device, which is an address to reach it at rather than anything about the device itself.
- Membership and referrals. Your subscription status, an identifier from our payment processor, who invited you, and the commissions and payouts your referrals produced.
We do not store card numbers. Payment details go directly to Stripe, and we keep only the customer identifier Stripe gives us.
3. If you only followed an invite link
Somebody who opens an invite link — /l/their-username — has no account and has agreed to nothing, so we keep almost nothing about them. We count the arrival, so that the member who shared the link can see whether their sharing is working.
What that count contains:
- Which member's link was opened.
- The calendar day it was opened on, and how many times.
- A short code that lets us tell two visitors apart on that one day. It is computed from the visitor’s network address and browser, mixed with a secret and with that day’s date, and then shortened. It cannot be turned back into an address, and the same person tomorrow produces an unrelated code, so it cannot be used to follow anybody from one day to the next.
We do not store the network address itself, the browser details, a cookie, or anything else that would outlive the day. The member who shared the link is shown totals only — how many people arrived, how many signed up — and never anything about an individual visitor.
Requests that are obviously not people — crawlers, and the previews chat apps generate when a link is pasted — are discarded rather than counted.
These daily totals are deleted after thirteen months. The window is long enough to compare a month against the same month a year earlier, and nothing is kept beyond it.
4. Why we hold it
- To give you an account, keep you signed in, and let you recover access.
- To decide what you are entitled to watch, and to keep your place in it across your devices.
- To establish that you are 18 or over.
- To recommend talks that match the interests you chose.
- To take payment for membership, and to calculate and pay affiliate commissions.
- To send you the notifications you asked for, and the account messages you cannot opt out of — a verification code, a change to your membership.
- To keep the service working and to investigate abuse.
6. Coaching conversations in particular
Coaching replies are generated by software. What you write is sent to our model provider to produce a reply, and both sides of the conversation are stored against your account so you can come back to it.
Please do not put anything in a coaching conversation you would not want stored — a diagnosis, somebody else’s private information, or a financial detail. The coach is not a clinician and the conversation is not a medical record; see the Disclaimer.
7. How long we keep it
- Expired sessions and one-time codes are deleted seven days after they expire.
- Invite-link arrival counts are kept as daily totals, with no way to identify a visitor beyond the day they arrived, and are deleted after thirteen months.
- A registration that never verified its email address is deleted outright after thirty days, which also releases the address for somebody else to use.
- Closing your account ends access and cancels billing, but keeps the record — see below.
- Financial records behind commissions and payouts are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, whatever else you ask us to remove.
Closing is not erasure, deliberately. Deleting the record outright would take your ratings and watch history with it, and would also destroy the referral attribution of whoever invited you — somebody else’s record, not yours. It would also make a closure made in anger or by mistake impossible to undo. So closing ends access and stops the money; erasure is a separate request.
8. What you can ask for
Write to {[email protected]} and we will act on any of the following. We will ask you to confirm your identity from the email address on the account first.
- A copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction of anything wrong — including a username or date of birth, which you cannot change yourself.
- Erasure of your personal information, beyond the closure the app performs.
- That we stop sending you notifications. You can also do this yourself in the app, under Settings.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not charge for any of the above.
9. Children
The service is not for anybody under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anybody under that age. If you believe a child has given us information, write to {[email protected]} and we will delete it.
10. How we protect it
Passwords are hashed and are never stored or logged in a form we could read. Session tokens and one-time codes are stored hashed, expire, and are revoked when you sign out or close your account. Our logs are written to redact codes, tokens and hashes rather than to record them.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information we will tell you, and any regulator we are required to tell, without undue delay.
11. Changes, and how to complain
We will post any change here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects you we will tell you through the app or by email.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, write to {[email protected]} first. You may also complain to your state attorney general or the relevant data protection authority.
